Hello All;

I am using "vxlustart" functionality to both upgrade OS and SF.

Everything was fine unti I started SF upgrade with the command of

***@jerry # ./installsf -upgrade -rootpath /altroot.5.10

I says:

System verification did not complete successfully

The following errors were discovered on the systems:

jerry is running SunOS version 5.Solaris

Supported versions are: 5.9, 5.10

The following warnings were discovered on the systems:

Notice: This Version of VxFS supports only disk layout Version 4 and
above. No VxFS file systems with disk layout Versions 1-3

were discovered on the system 'jerry'. Only the VxFS file systems in the
/etc/vfstab file were checked. If you have any VxFS

file systems that are using disk layout Versions 1-3, upgrade them to
disk layout Version 4 or above and restart the VxFS

installation.

Use the vxupgrade(1M) command to upgrade mounted file systems, or the
vxfsconvert(1M) command to upgrade unmounted file systems.

Use the fstyp -v command to determine the VxFS file system version. See
the Veritas Storage Foundation Installation Guide for

more information on upgrading VxFS disk layout versions.

installsf log files, summary file, and response file are saved at:

/altroot.5.10/opt/VRTS/install/logs/installsf-201010171133FGU

***@jerry #

what is your recommendation?

Hi,
Does it look like this is the error message? .......

*"jerry is running SunOS version 5.Solaris*

Supported versions are: 5.9, 5.10"

And the warnings about vxfs are just that... warnings.....?

I guess the SunOS version shouldn't be "5.Solaris", right?
Maybe check uname -a as well as /etc/release on both the regular BE and the
alt BE?
(if the alt BE was created by this point that is)
